dc.description.abstract | Alternative medicine has boomed in recent years, among these is music therapy, which as a complementary method has been used in human medicine, for the management of different pathologies, including cognitive, social and emotional. In the field of veterinary medicine, this has been used without being aware of it, since a long time ago its use had been practiced in different animal species. With the passing of the years, more and more studies of this therapy are carried out in humans and with them it is used as a model to expand this field in subsequent investigations in animals. By varying the characteristics of the music such as speed, tonality and distinguishing the different genres, mainly classical music, it has been possible to observe whether or not exposure to these interventions causes, in the different animal species, any behavioral and / or physiological change depending on the type of intervention. Based on the collected literature, it was possible to appreciate that music therapy has been used in species for zootechnical purposes of production and company, such as bovines, canines, felines, rodents, fish, primates and chickens. The results of experimental studies in humans and animals regarding physiological and behavioral changes were similar under certain conditions, however, it must be taken into consideration that the effects vary due to the habit and association that the animal has against it. In practices of daily use it can be a support as a therapeutic complement and as a benefit in production and animal welfare in the veterinary field. The amount of material available in veterinary medicine compared to human medicine is lower, but its ease of use and low costs is postulated as a complementary measure with great potential for use in veterinary medicine. | es_ES |
dc.description.tableofcontents | La medicina alternativa ha tomado auge en los últimos años, entre estas se encuentra la musicoterapia, que como método complementario ha sido usada en medicina humana, para el manejo de diferentes patologías, entre ellas cognitivas, sociales y emocionales. En el ámbito de medicina veterinaria, esta ha sido utilizada sin ser consciente de ello, desde tiempo atrás ya se venía practicando su uso en diferentes especies animales. Con el pasar de los años, cada vez más se realizan estudios de esta terapia en humanos y con ellos se parte como modelo para ampliar este campo en las posteriores investigaciones en animales. Variando las características de la música como la velocidad, la tonalidad y distinguiendo los diferentes géneros, principalmente música clásica se ha podido observar si la exposición a dichas intervenciones causa o no, en las diferentes especies animales algún cambio comportamental y/o fisiológico dependiendo el tipo de intervención. Basados en la literatura recopilada, se logró apreciar que la musicoterapia ha sido utilizada en especies con fin zootécnico de producción y compañía como lo son bovinos, caninos, felinos, roedores, peces, primates y gallinas. Los resultados de los estudios experimentales en humanos y en animales respecto a los cambios fisiológicos y comportamentales lograron ser similares en determinadas condiciones, sin embargo, se debe tener en consideración que los efectos varían por la costumbre y asociación que tiene el animal frente a este. En prácticas de uso cotidiano puede ser un apoyo como complemento terapéutico y como beneficio en producción y bienestar animal en el ámbito veterinario. La cantidad de material disponible en medicina veterinaria respecto a medicina humana es inferior, pero su facilidad de uso y bajos costos se postula como una medida complementaria con gran potencial de uso en veterinaria. | es_ES |
